Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club

Time to come back on line and regroup

Hi Everybody,

It is time I think to reboot the old club and give it a new lease of life.  We have let it 'rest' long enough now and it is time.  We will encourage former members and hopefully new blood to consider the direction the club should take and we will organise a few informal meeting to discuss same in the coming weeks.

A big word of thanks to all the people over the past 20 years who have worked so hard to achieve so much from an old hayshed at the back of a pub in County Meath.

Best wishes too to all our friends now in every part of the world.  Be afraid, that which was sleeping is now begining to stir.

Geoff

(Who is not going back onto Committee, done my time, tee shirt wore it etc)

Competing for Ireland in Finland...
Written by Mark Dennehy

All that training, all that sacrifice, all that hard work by Ray, Paul, Aisling and Matt (not to mention Peter in the UK) is coming to a head at the moment in a little town called Vierumäki in Heinola, Finland, where they are competing as the Irish Team (with Joe acting as manager - thanks Joe!) for the last of the London 2012 Olympic Quota Places. After training in RIAC last December and Intershoot just a week or two ago, and with Ray putting in scores in the 590s and Paul's PB only a point behind, we're hoping for great things from our shooters.

Raymond Kane

Paul O'Boyle

Aisling Miller

Peter Friend

You can follow them on the official 2012 European 10m Airgun Championships webpage and you can watch the scores go up live, shot by shot, on the Suis Ascor webpage. They're shooting this weekend, on Saturday at 0900 for Peter in Air Pistol, on Saturday at 1245 for Aisling in Air Rifle and on Sunday at 1100 for Ray and Paul in Air Rifle (all times in Irish time, not Finnish time).

Wish them luck!

Friday night training in WTSC

Friday nights are becoming a regular training time again on the range, with Matt, Mark, Paul, Ray and Ashling training away between 1800h and 2200h. The start of the revival of the club perhaps?
